A greener Tomorrow
We face immense pressure to transform our approaches to production, design, and utilization of consumer products, given the mounting challenges associated with burgeoning consumerism. Landfills are multiplying, plastic pollution is pervasive, and energy consumption continues to rise.
Our aim is to confront these challenges head-on and dedicate ourselves to discovering novel approaches for a more environmentally friendly and promising future.
We envision a future where household products are manufactured on demand, prioritizing sustainability and recyclability by utilizing eco-friendly materials.
By incorporating bio-sourced materials and fully recycled ones, we can significantly reduce our environmental impact.
The pivot to 3D printing plays a vital role in enabling this transition. Its capability to produce on demand allows for the creation of aesthetically appealing, previously unattainable shapes that are both lightweight and robust, all while generating less waste and minimizing harm compared to conventional manufacturing methods.
3D Printing
Why 3D Printing?
At FlowForm, we choose 3D printing as our primary manufacturing technique, setting us apart in both process and purpose. This modern approach brings several advantages over traditional manufacturing, allowing us to create with flexibility, sustainability, and efficiency at the forefront.
3D printing is an additive process, meaning material is added layer by layer, precisely where it’s needed. Unlike conventional manufacturing, which often cuts away material from a larger piece and produces excess waste, 3D printing creates minimal scrap.
We use eco-friendly PLA, some with recycled content, and ensure every product leaves a minimal footprint.
With 3D printing, we’re not limited by molds or rigid production setups. This flexibility allows us to produce intricate designs like the flowing shapes and interweaving patterns found in our lamps.
It also opens the door to experimenting with special editions and small-batch productions, enhancing our ability to innovate and offer unique designs to our customers.
3D printing lets us produce items on demand, reducing the need for large-scale inventory and excess storage. We can make only what’s needed, cutting down on wasteful overproduction and keeping each piece special.
This approach aligns with our commitment to conscious consumption, encouraging thoughtful purchasing and sustainable manufacturing.
By 3D printing our products locally, we reduce the environmental impact associated with long supply chains and mass shipping. Our local, on-demand production method lowers the carbon footprint and allows us to deliver high-quality pieces while supporting the shift toward a more circular economy.
Through 3D printing, we bring together technology and environmental consciousness, creating products that respect both design and the planet.
We embrace the future by utilizing the production techniques of tomorrow
Fully Recycled From Food Packaging
Sustainable Materials
"We need to change our way of producing...... And a good place to start is with the materials we choose"
Fully Recycled
In collaboration with the Dutch company Reflow, a selection of our materials are sourced from collected and recycled PLA food packaging in the Benelux region.
Only a tiny fraction of virgin plastic is utilized in the process.
Our objective is that all our materials come from recycled sources in the near future.
Circular Economy
The core of our designs predominantly consists of bio-derived PLA. Notably, we refrain from surface treating the 3D printed parts, enhancing the ease of recycling.
When our products reach the end of their lifecycle, they can undergo a transformation, emerging as new shapes and serving new purposes, contributing to a sustainable circular economy.
No waste goals
Our prototyping endeavors, test printing, and unsuccessful prints are carefully preserved for future recycling by Recyclingfabrik, a German company. They work their magic, transforming these materials into pristine filament once again.
This approach underscores our commitment to reducing our production’s environmental impact to the bare minimum.
Green Energy
Our entire print farm and equipment are powered by sustainable energy, primarily harnessed from Danish wind farms, showcasing our commitment to eco-friendly practices.
